On paper this sounds like an idea for a fun movie, however that was not entirely the case here. the concept is interesting but unfortunately for me it did not deliver on the execution. The story just didn’t grab me and even left me feeling bored at times. by far the best part of this film were the last 20 minutes or so when we actually get to see the monsters destroy the city, if there was more of that in this film then I may have liked it more.

As far as the characters go I like them but for me they are not that memorable. I loved Jeffrey Dean Morgan he’s a great actor and I wish that his character got to do more in this film, I feel like he didn’t really do much at all. The Gorilla George is also another character that I enjoyed watching, he had more personality than half the people in this film.

Every film needs a good villain right? well unfortunately this one doesn’t. The two main “villains” in this film are rather cliche and boring. I honestly found myself zoning out during their scenes.  Also they are annoyingly stupid at times, for example when the lure the animals to their tower (thats in the middle of a city) with sound waves. why would they lead them straight to their building where they could destroy it not to mention destroy the rest of the city and kill people. I feel like that part of the plot was added in so they could have all three monsters fight in a city together.

To sum up this film could have been so much better than it was but unfortunately it falls into the bad video game movie category. it felt like the characters faced no real challenges, even when Dwayne Johnsons character was shot he was completely fine.. A cool concept that was sadly wasted.

Thank you for reading!
